The People We Support…

Handwritten thank-you note on paper, expressing gratitude for guidance and support in a new life, and acknowledging help with exercises.

“Thank you for giving me this new life where I don't have to spend days in bed and can explore the world.

Thank you for actually explaining to me about pain and of course for all your stair and physio help.

I'm so grateful for all you have done for me.

Of course, I still do gym and my exercises. I can't thank you enough.”

Family members of those we support

“I greatly admire Alistair and Liz and feel huge gratitude for them. They are wise and compassionate people bringing a deep understanding of people and health to the context of their physiotherapy practice. In a system that often seems to have reduced physiotherapy and perhaps even the medical field as a whole, to single, timeboxed functional appointments applying specified treatments to a body almost regardless of the person on the receiving end, LD Physio has plotted a radically different and immeasurably better course. They see the excellent physio interventions they make as part of the life of the human they are treating. They have taken a lot of time to listen to my father, to truly get to know him and all of the circumstances he finds himself in. They truly understand the impact of his physical limitations on his life and work with endless patience to help him strengthen himself holistically in exactly the right ways to support his situation. They have gone the extra mile and then several more extra miles to make related social and practical interventions my father needs in addition to the physical ones, and have gone a long way out of their way to be there for him when he has needed help urgently on occasion. It is not hyperbole to say that their work "beyond the process" has improved the quality of my father's live greatly and has indeed almost certainly extended it. I have no hesitation at all in recommending them to anyone dealing with complex, longer term issues that have a physical element.”

“LD Physio provide exceptional support to students at Rotherham Opportunities College, a college for young people aged 16-25 with special educational needs and disabilities,  through tailored physiotherapy plans, targeted interventions, and structured exercise programmes. Their expertise in developing students’ strength, managing pain, and building resilience—both in individual and group sessions—has had a significant impact on students’ wellbeing. As a result, students are more comfortable, confident, and better able to focus on their learning and wider college experience. The LD Physio team are a pleasure to work with, demonstrating a collaborative approach with staff and a compassionate style with students.”

Our group exercise members

“Alistair and his team have been running a neuro physio exercise class in a large Nottingham gym since 2023 for a lively group who are mostly living with moderately disabling MS. We all look forward to the classes as they are a mixture of seated or standing exercises for the whole body and innovative use of gym equipment. Each class varies and he tailors the exercises to suit the individual with a combination of challenge and encouragement with a lot of fun along the way.

Alistair's personal gym is well set out for individual support and some of our class and their partners have consulted him for bespoke physiotherapy.

It is also refreshing to experience trainee physios attached to the clinic who are training at Nottingham University, and contribute to the professional and social chat that ensues.

Thanks to all the team.”
